Taking over as President and Director of Winemaking of Hanzell Vineyards in spring of 2014, Jason brings extensive wine business experience that starts literally from the ground up. After planting his first vineyard at the age of 18, Jason has acted as Vineyard Manager, Director of Winemaking and President for some of the finest wineries in the country including Flowers Vineyard and Winery, Rhys Vineyards, Clos Du Val, and Domaine Serene amongst others. With tremendous passion, Jason leads the Hanzell team through the implementation of Integrated Biodynamic Farming practices, allowing the vineyards to thrive and best express themselves in our wines. When not working here on the farm, you can find Jason in the family vegetable garden and spending time with his wife Ali and their two children, Gabriel and Pippin. Jason holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business.
